We have different gatherings for the service of the church inspired by the passage found in Acts 2:42
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.“
The Church of God in Glasgow meets at Shiloh Hall every Sunday morning beginning at 11am. Our meetings take the form of the Breaking of the Bread, Prayer, Bible Teaching and other meetings of fellowship including Gospel Services and our Praise Nights.
On Wednesday evenings we offer Children’s Club for young people (Primary 3- Primary 7) from at 6.45pm to 8.00pm.
Prayer and Bible Teaching are held on Thursday evenings from 7.45pm to 9.00pm.
Please check our Events page for special Monthly events. Apart from the age restriction for the Wednesday Club, visitors are especially welcome on any of these occasions.
The Breaking of the Bread
This meeting is often referred to as the Remembrance, and visitors are invited to sit at the end of the Hall and witness what takes place. They are supplied with hymnbooks to follow the singing, and listen to those already enrolled in the church expressing their thoughts in worship to God.
The primary purpose is for those in the church to remember the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus in the breaking of bread and pouring of the cup of wine, and after partaking of these symbols of the body and blood of Jesus to offer spontaneous worship and praise in word and song.
The service begins at 11.00 am every Sunday. Learn more about What You Can Expect at our Worship Service.
On the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Sunday each month we provide a time where all ages can enjoy praising and learning about God from the Bible, together. This is family-friendly introduction to church.
Each Gospel Service starts at 4:00pm with an opportunity to meet and chat with each other in fellowship. There is an energetic time of singing, some form of craft or activity or object lesson meant to appeal to the children, and a way to remind them of the key message or verse from that day.
A different speaker each month will bring a short, engaging and family-friendly message from the Bible.
On Wednesday evenings there is Children’s Club for young people (Primary 3 – Primary 7). These sessions run from 6.45pm to 8:00pm. Check our rota schedule on the Youth page.
Prayer & Bible Teaching
On Thursday evenings there is a short Bible-based presentation followed by a collective time for prayer and singing.
These sessions run from 7.45pm to 9.00pm.
